HOLISTIC HEALING

Envision our body as a machine: a firm structure with various parts and each with its own respective functions. When fully functioning, a machine is able to carry out what it was designed to do. But if it is missing any essential parts, it cannot operate usefully.

In a similar way, practitioners believe that the human body is composed of individual “parts” that are dependent on one another. Without this orchestrated effort, the body could experience detrimental effects. Holistic healing offers a better understanding of how the “parts” of the human body properly function in order to obtain optimal health. Therefore, one should not depend solely on just a few “parts” of the body to do the job, but rather be aware on how everything comes together in promoting vibrant health.

From the Greek root meaning “halos” and translated “all,” holistic is by definition relating to or concerning an entire entity. Holistic healing is a form of medicine that is particular to one’s entire body, mind, and spirit. When experiencing any form of imbalance in the body, one may feel a sense of disruption in performing even daily tasks. Therefore, approaching our bodies with the methods of holistic healing allows one to look beyond the physical issues and instead use these as cues to discover the non-physical aspects of the problem. In other words, holistic healing offers effective ways to address not only external issues, but also those of an internal nature.

The goal of holistic healing is to have all parts of the body working as efficiently as possible. Targeting both the physical and emotional battles of the body through the means of holistic healing allows the individual to achieve a healthy and balanced state of living.
